That was a close call! Just a single goal separated two Tipico Million players from a prize of one million euros last week. It would have been the first time a player had correctly predicted all seven results in Tipico Million. Instead of the million-euro prize, however, the players each walked away with 100,000 euros – making them two of a total of five winners who secured substantial payouts.
Germany’s Exit Twice as Frustrating!
For one of the winners, it was the German national team, of all teams, that decided whether he would win a million or 100,000 euros. The player correctly predicted the exact scorelines of the victories by France, Mexico, the USA, England, Norway and Brazil. For him, however, Germany’s elimination was twice as painful: whilst he had tipped a 2-1 win for Germany, the scoreboard showed 1-1 after 90 minutes. That meant he was one goal short of winning a million.
It was also an exceptionally close call for a second player: Whilst he correctly predicted the exact scores of the victories by France, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the USA, he was one goal short in the match between England and Congo. His prediction was 3-1 to the English – but the match actually ended in a 2-1 victory. Here too, he was one goal short of a perfect run and thus of winning one million euros.
Payouts Totalling 400,000 Euros
In addition to the two players who missed out on the million by a single goal, three further participants correctly predicted six out of seven results – although their seventh prediction was not quite as close. One of them also secured 100,000 euros as a result. Two further players each won 50,000 euros, as they had opted for the variant with a stake of one euro rather than three. A total of 400,000 euros was thus paid out to the five winners.
Tipico Million is a system bet in which players predict the exact results of seven specified football matches for a fixed stake of either one, three or five euros. Just one correct prediction results in a win. If all seven results are predicted correctly, the payout is 500,000 euros, one million euros or 2.5 million euros, depending on the stake. Every successful player receives the full prize amount.
