New player protection standards set benchmarks for the entire industry
Responsible betting and the accompanying player protection form integral parts of the corporate philosophy of Tipico. For this reason, Tipico and the Institute Gambling & Addiction (IGA) develop and implement new player protection standards setting benchmarks for the entire industry.
Therefore, the employees of the sports betting provider use the training and education opportunities in responsible gaming by this leading institution since 2015. Recently, Ricarda Ritterbach (Legal Counsel Tipico Co. Ltd.) and Manuel Lopez (Leader Training at Tipico Germany) qualified in the successful introduction and implementation of player protection within the company by completing the 80-hour top training “Excellence in Responsible Gaming”.

In 2015/16, an additional seven Tipico employees completed a 40-hours course at the institute and became responsible gaming manager with a profound expertise in player protection. Since the beginning of 2015, 850 employees received training in 50 seminars of 50 times 6 hours and are now specialist in the safe handling of customer.

The trainings and courses dealt with all controversial issues around gambling and betting addiction. From the prevention and counter measures to early detection to the different ways to avoid gambling addiction and to refer seriously ill cases to an appropriate therapy. In addition to the theoretical knowledge the course also provided many practical elements including de-escalation management, the development of intercultural competence for qualified dealing with vulnerable guests and, as a core element, the successful implementation of player protection within the company.
