Playing cards for a good cause

Tipico supports charity card game tournament which raised 23.000 euros for the good cause. The tournament took place in aid of “Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation” and “Sky Foundation”

For the second edition of the “Michael Leopold Charity Card game Tournament” in the Salvator Keller Paulaner at the Nockherberg (Munich), ex-professional football players, coaches and celebrities met on Monday, January 25, to play cards for a good cause. The idea for the card tournament originated from a lost golfing bet between Sky Presenter Michael Leopold and Bayern star Thomas Müller. Leopold’s duty was to organise a typical Bavarian card round in aid of “Nicolaidis Young Wings Foundation”, which is supported by Thomas Müller for years. Game of choice was “Schafkopfen”, a card game deeply rooted in the colourful traditions book of Germany’s southernmost state.

A total of 23,000 euros were collected and will be shared between the “Nicolaidis Young Wings Foundation” and the “Sky Foundation”. The “Young Wings Nicolaidis Foundation” provides people that lost beloved ones with grief counselling. The “Sky Foundation” promotes social values such as fairness, tolerance and a sense of responsibility through sport and to instruct people on how to live healthier lives.
