Keita, Walke and Lechner

Representatives of all clubs awarded the best of the 2015/16 tipico Bundesliga season

Every year around the end of the season, the outstanding protagonists of football leagues around the world receive awards: same applies for Austria. Naby Keita of champions and Tipico partner Red Bull Salzburg was elected tipico Bundesliga Best Player of the Season 2015/16 by the clubs’ presidents, managers and coaches. The attacking midfielder from Guinea came in first ahead of his club colleague, captain and top-scorer Jonathan Soriano (ESP) and Rapid’s Florian Kainz (AUT).

The award for Best Goal-keeper also goes to Salzburg. The German Alexander Walke won with Austria’s number 1 Robert Almer (FK Austria Wien) and Jörg Siebenhandl (FC Admira Wacker Mödling) in second and third. Best Referee of the past tipico Bundesliga season became the Viennese Harald Lechner ahead of his colleagues Oliver Drachta and Robert Schörgenhofer.

For Lechner it was the third award in a row. Naby Keita and Alexander Walke are looking forward to their first awards, which will be handed over at the Red Bull’s championship celebration party after the home match against Wolfsberger AC.
