TV-spot series “The Big Game“ awarded in category Sportsbook Marketing Campaign of the Year
Tipico Sportwetten received the award for Best Sportsbook Marketing Campaign of the Year at the E-Gaming Review Marketing & Innovation Awards 2016, leaving competitors Guts Gaming and Sky Bet behind. The trophy was awarded on June 1, 2016, at the Pavilion at the Tower of London by an independent jury.
Tipico entered the competition in the category for the most effective sports marketing campaign with the TV campaign “The Big Game”. The story of the spots is told in five parts in which the brand ambassador Oliver Kahn and Peter Schmeichel fight out a cards duel. The campaign ran a total of 16 weeks in which new episodes were released regularly. The highlight was a surprising glimpse into the future of the goalkeeper legends when one could see them competing 50 years later.
Through a cross-media approach approximately 79 million potential customers could be reached. A survey among potential customers with an affinity to betting and our online customers confirmed the success of the campaign: nearly 70 percent of the participants answered, that they have seen the campaign at least once. A resounding success, for which we warmly congratulate all participants!
