Former teammates watching FC Bayern Munich home match together
It was the reunion of two old colleagues: Oliver Kahn and Michael Ballack visited the Tipico box in the Allianz Arena to watch the Bundesliga match of FC Bayern Munich against 1. FC Cologne together.
The two legends of German football were teammates at the German record champions as well as in the national team. For four years – from 2002 to 2006 – Kahn and Ballack played together for the German top club and won the double consisting of championship and the DFB cup three times then. For the DFB selection, they played together even longer. The two outstanding sportsmen wore the kit with the eagle on the chest from 1999 till 2006.
It was all the more delightful to meet again in the Tipico box. Goalkeeping titan Kahn wrote about a “nice afternoon with old acquaintances – among others with Michael Ballack – in the Tipico box at the match of the FC Bayern against Cologne” on his official Facebook page.
However, “Titan” Kahn and “Capitano” Ballack brought no luck to their former club. The Bundesliga leaders lost their first points of the season against the 1. FC Cologne after five wins in series. “The Cologne team was brave and deserved a point,” said Oliver Kahn about the 1:1 draw. Despite the small slip-out, Michael Ballack expects the Munich team finishing top of the table again, “Same procedure as every year. In the end, they will dominate the Bundesliga”.
During their visit, Oliver Kahn and Michael Ballack signed some FC Bayern Munich merchandising products. Tipico gives away two sets consisting of a kit and a scarf in a raffle on its official Facebook page.
